Ingredients
- 1 cup Fresh basil leaves, washed and dried
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1/4- 1/2 cup Pine nuts
- 1/4 - 1/2 cup Extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tsp Salt Reduce or increase as needed
- 1/2 tsp Freshly Ground Black Pepper

Instructions
- Wash basil leaves well and dry them on a towel. Add everything except olive oil and salt to blender or food processor jar, pine nuts at the bottom
- Start blending, drizzling or adding olive oil as you go until you get a paste to the consistency you like; I like bits of pine nuts in my pesto. Some prefer a smooth paste.
- Add salt to taste and pepper to taste
- Toss with pasta of your choice

Substitutions to try:
- Replace pine nuts with walnuts or cashew
- Add green chilies to spice it up
